On September 2, 2024, the Norwegian Embassy in Abu Dhabi advised people applying for Schengen visas from the UAE, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar to apply at least 15 days before their travel date. They also warned applicants not to buy plane tickets until their visa is approved. The Embassy is currently processing applications from early August and expects delays during busy periods.
