Starting September 3, 2024, new regulations in British Columbia will improve conditions for gig workers in ride-hailing and food delivery services. The changes include a new minimum wage, compensation for vehicle expenses, and protection of tips. Companies must provide transparent estimated earnings and disclose job locations, as well as give reasons for suspensions or terminations within 14 days.
