These rules are more favourable than the standard Visa Code rules used previously. The new "cascade" system makes it easier for Indian nationals with a good travel history to get multi-year Schengen visas. To qualify, applicants must have lived in India and legally used two Schengen visas within the last three years. If they meet these criteria and have valid passports, they can receive long-term multiple-entry visas.
