Temporary residents who have lived in Canada for at least 18 months and hold
permits that don’t say "does not confer status" can apply for the
Canada Child Benefit (CCB). To apply, they must report their income from last
year and make sure they’ve filed their tax return to avoid delays. If a child
is born in Canada, registering the birth may automatically apply for the CCB.
The next payment is on October 18, 2024. Families can receive up to $7,787 per
year for each child under 6.
