of 485,000. This reduction is expected to decrease study permits by 300,000
over the next few years. The cap will also be stabilized in 2026. Miller
emphasized that not everyone who wishes to come or stay in Canada will be able
to, as the immigration system aims to remain sustainable and well-managed.
These changes include adjustments to the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)
eligibility.
