Finnish(Finland) Authorities to Raise Salary Thresholds for Certain Permits
On September 11, 2024, Finnish
authorities announced that they will increase salary thresholds for some
residence permit applications starting November 1, 2024. This will apply to
permits for individuals with degrees or qualifications from Finland,
researchers, start-up entrepreneurs, and self-funded researchers. Applicants
must meet a minimum income level set by the Finnish Immigration Service to
qualify.
The income thresholds will
also rise for students, au pairs, and working holiday permits. The thresholds
will be reviewed annually to adjust for regional differences and inflation.
Employers should consider these changes when planning for 2025.
